It's Too Weird"Why am I even here?"Laney sighed, looking up at the ceiling of the gymnasium. The mid-spring dance was a buzz, but Laney was sitting at table by herself. She was all dressed up in her outfit that she wore in the Queen Bee contest, hoping to have at least one dance with the guy of her dreams. The dimly lit room made the atmosphere soft and night-like, as the theme was 'Midnight in Paris'. Kin and Kon cackled on how cliche and dorky it was, but Laney herself thought it was the perfect theme for her and Corey. But Corey obviously had a different plan. A crazy plan that just might work. And it did. When Corey announced that he signed the band up to play for the dance, it was safe to say he got mixed reactions. While Kin and Kon cheered, Laney scolded him yet again for not thinking it through."Core! We don't have lyrics to play at the dance!""That's not a problem, Lanes! The principal said she'd give us a list of songs to play, so lyrics aren't a problem for this one!"Laney groa
The Big DateLarry and Laney walked side by side, laughing as they exited the movie theater. They just finished their movie a few moments ago and they were heading to the park, chatting it up."No, the best part was when the cop was shooting zombies all on his own!""That was pretty cool, but I think the best was when they trashed the rest stop!"They weren't holding hands, but they were close enough for people to realize that they were on a date. The movie the twosome saw was a simple horror/comedy zombie apocalypse, and it was supposedly a big hit. The tickets on the first night sold out within an hour! Luckily, Larry pre-ordered the tickets so the wait in line was a little less worrisome. The cool spring air was a nice greeting to the bass players when they exited the theater. It nipped at Laney's cheeks as she and Larry walked through the concrete paths in the park. Although the risk of being spotted by their friends was constant, Laney couldn't help but enjoy the date. Never in a million years
N.S.A.- The Middle GroundIt was exactly a week since Larry and Laney shared their first kiss, and they both agreed to lay low about everything. The entire week, both Laney and Larry avoided eye contact and stayed at least ten feet away from each other. Nobody seemed to notice anything, but Larry could swear the feeling of being watched got more and more intense as the days went by. However, he was more concerned on the concert and the practices they had left. There wasn't much time left. The festival started in less than a month, and they only had the song they played when their bands weren't forced as two-in-one.Despite the efforts of their friends to try and work together, the practices kept getting worse and worse because of the arguing. Corey and Carrie spent more time arguing than actually practicing, leaving the rest of the musicians to try and practice alone. Kin seemed to be testing a new tone on his keyboard as Corey and Carrie shoved each other, screaming at the top of their lungs."I told you, we w
There's No WayCarrie Beff stared at the two tickets in her hand as the bus hit another bump in the road. Carrie ignored the giggling children as she stared at the window, not looking forward to this at all. She recently won a pair of tickets for two at a local carnival, and she had nobody to go with.Well...almost nobody.-FLASHBACK TRANSITION~!-"What do you mean you can't go?!""...That I can't go to the carnival with you?"Carrie hopped onto her bed, messing up the neatly folded bed sheets, blankets, and pillows upon impact. She was currently on the phone with her best guy friend, Larry Nepp, trying to encourage him to go to the carnival with her that she had been dying to go to. Kim and Konnie weren't available due to a family night out at a local Japanese garden, so they were out for the count. And now she just got news that Larry was making plans to spend time with his girlfriend at the park. The female guitarist could hear some shuffling in the background. She figured he
N.S.A.- Your Own Tempo"You think he's in there?""He's gotta be! Where else would he be?"Kim and Konnie snickered as they snuck into Larry's room. Larry avoided their texts and calls all night; something was up. But they knew Larry was up to something, and they also knew he would never tell them. So, it was time for plan B. His parents had let them in without a second thought; and the twins creeped towards his door as quietly as they could.Kim grasped the doorknob, twisted it gently, and pushed the door as slowly as possible. A small creak came out, but that was all. Both girls peeked inside, noticing how dark Larry's room was despite the sun shining.Kim took notice that only his shoes were scattered in the floor and his bed was still made. If she knew Larry, she knew that something was up if only his shoes were on his floor and his untouched bed. His blinds were closed, and the only light source inside was his desk lamp.Larry was hunched face-down on his desk, snoring away. Crumbled up papers overflowe
